September is a huge month for fashion lovers. September marks Fashion Weeks around the world and Vogue (essentially the Holy Grail to us fashion addicts) releases their best and biggest issue all year filled with serious fashion inspiration. For the Bubbles & Bloggers event this month, I knew I wanted to plan something different from the normal brunches, more focused on a party for own September issue. I was thinking up ideas, but all my ideas halted when I had a discussion with Illusions of Georgetown on the idea of a blogger party. Illusions is a new partner of mine and they are very interested in the blog community, so they offered to host a party for our Bubbles & Bloggers group, and September was the perfect time so plans fell into place perfectly.
If you haven't seen my other posts about Bubbles & Bloggers, it is a monthly meetup for DC area bloggers and creatives to meet each other in person and network. It has turned into a support group of sorts and it has been a wonderful outlet for meeting new people with similar interests.
Bubbles & Bloggers- The September Party at Illusions of Georgetown
Our Bubbles & Bloggers September Party took place last week and it was seriously the best meetup we've had so far and Illusions of Georgetown was an amazing host! The party was after-hours so we had the salon to ourselves to meet the Illusions team, mingle, sip champs, and shop. For the event, Illusions offered up a makeup and hair bar with quick styling, which escalated to almost all of us in attendance testing out the new Celeb Luxury Viral Colorwash shampoos that are new to the salon. Before I knew it, everyone had color in their hair and was laughing and picking out what color shampoo they wanted. I chose pink for my hair, and I loved it! The shampoo is essentially like a temporary stain to your hair and it washes out in about 3 washes. I still have a very faded pink streak, and I can't wait to try it again! While some girls did the color shampoo, others opted for quick styling and makeup touch ups, as well as playing dress up with the Halo Hair Extensions that Illusions carries.
For shopping, local boutique owners Lili the First and Sheyla Boutique, and Stella & Dot rep, Jenna (who is also a sorority sister of mine from college! Yay Delta Zeta!) were set up with pop-up shops on the second level of the salon. The clothing selections from both boutiques were amazing, and I was ogling over all of the jewelry from Stella & Dot. Lili the First is a boutique in Georgetown that carries designers from all over the world and the styles are very unique and stylish. Sheyla Boutique is a fashion truck that can normally be found in Shirlington and Sheyla carries lots of vibrant dresses and bright apparel, that she gets direct from New York City suppliers. As for Stella & Dot, I'm a huge fan of their jewelry. Sure, its a little pricier, but the quality is great and I love that a lot of the pieces are 4-in-1 or 3-in-1, so you are getting more for the cost! I snapped some pictures of the jewelry spread, which are all available online too!
In closing, I want to thank Illusions of Georgetown for such a memorable and fun event! Illusions was the absolute best host and went above and beyond making us all feel welcome in their salon. Not to mention all the hard work they put in for the event and their team who worked late and provided us with amazing service! I can't wait to go back to Illusions soon, and I urge you to check them out at their locations in Georgetown or Shirlington. Thank you, Illusions! You sure know how to throw a party!
